Summer has always been dear to me – a time of warm, long days for outdoor exploring – but is all the more precious now that I have a teacher hubby and little ones to share it with. While peakbagging and backpacking will always be passions of mine, my recent summers have been full of new experiences. Seeing the girls ride a bike, tread water, paddle, and catch fish for the first time were memorable moments, but witnessing the wonder on their faces when they splashed in the sea for the first time or saw a pod of orcas was pure joy.
To celebrate summer and all the fun of the season, I have collaborated with Adventure Tykes, Hiking Along, Mountain Mom and Tots, The Kid Project to present photos submitted by readers and fellow outdoor bloggers in a collection of photo essays. My collection embodies the theme “play outside”. Thank you to everyone who contributed! The lucky prize winner is announced below.
