Over 60 cafes, restaurants, and chocolatiers compete for YYC’s Best Hot Chocolate, Best Spirited Hot Chocolate, and the Cup That Runneth Over Award from February 1-29, 2020 in support of Calgary Meals on Wheels. $1 (non-spirited) & $2 (spirited) from every cup sold goes to this charity. Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story
With an incredible musical score, witty (and colorful) language, and a dark and twisted love story, Old Stock is by far my favorite show of Alberta Theatre Projects’ 2019/2020 season. Ben Caplan’s energetic vocals and his co-stars’ music will have you dancing in your seat – in between the darker scenes. Based on the true story of Hannah Moscovitch’s Jewish-Romanian great-grandparents who emigrated to Canada in 1908. Make it a date night! 14+ for explicit language.

Bow Habitat Station FISHtival
Bow Habitat Station will host its annual FISHtival on Saturday with tours of the newly-renovated Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery (and the opportunity to feed the fish!), snowshoeing, marshmallow roasting, and casting practice. For more information, visit Bow Habitat Station.

Body Worlds: Animal Inside Out at Telus Spark
“Travel on an anatomical safari” through skeletons, muscle, circulatorysystems, and organs of 100 preserved specimens of land and aquatic animals from around the world. “No animals were harmed in the making of ANIMAL INSIDE OUT.” Learn more about this fascinating exhibit here.

Penguin Walk at Calgary Zoo
The winter penguin walk at the Calgary Zoo is a great opportunity to get a closer look at the king penguins while they get some exercise. As long as temperatures aren’t too extreme (above +5 or below -25, or too windy), you can expect to see the king penguin colony out for a stroll at 11 am until the end of March.
